C programming problem... help me, please :)

hi everyone, I have serious problem with writing a C program to my school. This is because I know nothing about programming :] and I really need this program till 14. january... so you are my last hope... write it for me please

Data file is a text file. there are 2 columns of integers < 2^16. these numbers in data files represent input and output signals of some device. input signal is cosinus wave with constant component. output signal is also a periodic signal.

program should find amplification of described device for fundamental frequency, each harmonic percentage in output signal and non linear distortion coefficent of output signal.

thank you,
bartek

First, I must ask, what class is this for?

Second... Does it have to be specifically in C? Or could it be in some other language?

I think he just wanted to know which class to avoid (I would certainly skip this one - kidding).
Unfortunately, I can bring no constructive input to this thread, as this would involve a lot of research from my part.
You could wait for someone more knowleadgeable to help you out, or you could try researching the technical stuff yourself and get our help for programming issues...

Kind regards,
Luci

Tell me how to get the information your instructor is looking for mathematically, and I'll help you do it programatically.

and that is the main problem - he gave us the programs and said that we have to do them alone and that he won't answer questions about it... strange, isn't it??

Yeah. I would ask a math professor about it or maybe research online about how to get the figures he's looking for mathematically. Doing it programatically is the easy part. The tough part for me would be finding out how to get the figures that he's looking for.
