Question

Video output to monitor??

I would like to play my Playstation on my monitor, instead of my TV, due to resolution (and heck, just to try it). The Playstation video output is the common yellow male plug. My video card is a Radeon 9200 "Rex" version. It came with a cable to attach TVs as monitors. In addition to the output plug for TVs, it the cable has an input for video, leading me to believe you can attach something like a playstation to your video card. Is there anyway to get my Playstation to show up on my monitor??

I had something similar I wanted to do, there might have been a fix around i dunno, basically I ended up buying and installing a card that could record video from various sources, I used the program included with the card and used it to view the video game I just wasn't recording anything.

Cards like the ATI All-in-Wonder will do it just fine. I'm not sure about your particular card, but if the video input cable matches the RCA jack off the PS2, then it should work. You may have to change the video card settings in Windows to tell the system to show aux video instead of system video. Doesn't hurt to try.

I can attach the playstation output to the cable that came with the card and so it appears that it's possible. Maybe what I'm looking for is some sort of software, because there doesn't appear to be any option on the ATI control panel. I'm using omega drivers if that might help...

I don't have any experience w/ these types of cards; perhaps someone else does. I don't know what's required to change the video in selection. The only thing I could think of is look at the Windows and the ATI Control Panels and see if there's something there. Are you using original drivers? ATI may have newer drivers that have what you're looking for.

You might look at info regarding the All-in-Wonder card and see how it works; you might get enough info to help you w/ your problem.

Cyrix,
I'm struggling with the same problem. I hooked the PS2 sound up to my computer speakers and plugged the yellow RCA cable into my COMP IN plug on my Radeon 7200, and I haven't found any place to tell the machine to show me the picture. If you solved the problem, please let me know.

Thanks
