What should I use? XHTML 1.0 or HTML 4.01 Strict?

Hi guys!

My website use HTML 4.01 Strict doctype, and it is a valid HTML 4.01 strict. Now, my question is. What are the advantages of using XHTML 1.0? Does HTML 4.01 Strict is as good as XHTML in terms of browser rendering? Do I have to stick to HTML 4.01 strict? I'm kind a bit confused about this doctype thing.

Below are the pages of my site: All of these pages and it's sub-pages are CSS layout.
