can't "Add Connection..."?hi.
i'm a vb/c++ programmer that's been dormant for a couple years and i'm trying to get back into it. i'm messing around with visual studio and i can't, for the life of me, get the thing to let me connect to any kind of database. i right click on "Data Connections" in the server explorer and click "Add Connection..." and it doesn't do anything. the first time i do it i get an hour glass for a moment and then nothing. the same thing happens if i drop a new DataAdapter onto my form. i go through the wizard and when i get to the "New Connection..." box, it doesn't do anything! am i missing something? please help. thanks! -eric |
