Graphics tweak II: Space graphicAlright, this is another graphic that I made in photoshop, similar to my last post, I'd like a little criticism and mabye some pointers on how to make it better. This'n started with two planet pics I found online one day. I just cut 'em out and put 'em in Photoshop and had fun with it. Let me know what you think, the file is attached!

I think it looks quite good. Your "nebulae" in the center is a trifle too dark, I think. And the lower planet could be lightened a little. I don't remember is PS light POV to give realistic lighting to objects (could be a 3d feature).
Of course, I don't use PS as artistically as you. In my work, I mostly use it for photo retouching and "cheating" to create something that's not there. __________________

I see. My sister has been telling me that ever since I first made it! I just never believed her :-) . Now that I look at it in the light of what you said, that planet at the bottom does look pretty weird ... kinda .
I think I might need to change the resolution or make the entire graphic larger cause that size (at least with my 1280 X 1024 res) doesn't show the blend of colors well enough... The gradients look to choppy. Thats at least on my computer... |

I like this pic! I'd like to maybe see a little more of Saturn, maybe about 20-30% more. I think the nebulae works as is, but brightening it won't hurt either.
The atmosphere around the top planet is great! The stars shining thru it are too bright though. They'd probably be mostly invisible. All in all, This is a really good pic IMHO. __________________

Ok, well, I did some playing around with the pic, and all, but it still has that ultra pixellated look to it... I'll attach it and you can see what I'm talking about. Does anyone know how to save a pic like this without all the pixellation in the gradients? I used Photoshop, and optomized it with quality near 100% to show the details of the graphic, but those line thingy's are really starting to get to me!
Anyway, here's what I have, If it looks worse, Tell me please! |

I like the new picture. Not sure how to fix the gradients; maybe it's the "stepping" of the color changes.
