Graphics tweak I: sunrize graphic

Hello, friends...

I just finished up an introduction to Photoshop CS class, and was wondering how to further tweak some of my fav. graphics that I made for my portfolio from the class.
This first one that I'll post is supposed to be a sunrise photo. I made it all in Photoshop, and was just wanting to make it better. The trees REALLY suck, I know that already. I don't know how to make 'em though either. Anyway, just critique it. Let me know what you all think about it. Its not a super 3d image or anything, just simple 2d-ness. Basic, and representative of most of that which I learned inside and outside of PS class.

Thanks, the file is attached to this post...

For a "junior drawing" it looks pretty good. A little cartoony but that's to be expected. You might enhance the lens flare from behind the pyramid and the associated shadows. Trees are difficult; maybe play w/ the PS textures.

One thing many people do is get representative pictures of what you want to do (e.g. get a shot of a house w/ the sun behind it) and see what happens to the environment, then try to recreate a similar effect.

I guess that's true. :-)
Just used to those hot summer days. Guess that's the best thing about NC, nice and warm in the summer, but nice and cool in the winter... Perfect year-round. I've probably never experienced weather below -5 Fahrenheit.... So 30 is pretty cold for me. I'll have to try going to Minnesota one time for vacation!
Anyway, please excuse my wimpyness!
