sorry if this has already been posted, new here but having some problems.

im trying to open pictures under windows explorer, but i keep getting an error message that says the following:

"Windows cannot find Program.exe.

This program is needed for opening files of type 'Image File'.

Type in the executable file to be used instead:"

anyone know what i can do to be able to view my pictures? it worked before *pout*

Well, there's a thread that I responded to before talking about "program.exe", but it was never resolved; at least, the questioner never reposted to it. http://www.gidforums.com/t-3778.html

For image viewers, I'd recommend getting a copy of Irfanview. It's free, can view nearly any image or graphic type available, very powerful, and has many useful options. It's just as good, if not better, than ACDSee or ThumbsPlus. It has several filters and enhancement tools also, plus a thumbnail generator.

thanks for the reply yea, that post you referred to is the one that i got on my search to solve the problem, which is how i found this forum. thanks for the program, it seems to work we'll see if i still say that after a few weeks of using it

I've been using irfanview for may years now and it's great! Irfan (the designer) is very quick to respond to emails, too.
