I need a free web host with no ads that supports PHP, ASP, FTP and MySQL.
does anyone know of any.

Well, I got an account w/ Zidev a few weeks ago. (Saw the "ad" here on the forums). The free account does have one ad banner, but it only costs $1.50 a month to get rid of it. They do have support for many things; just look at the Zidev posting in Free Web Hosting.

I have been using 000k2.com and they have been mostly great. I get 125MB of space, 1 SQL table, support for PHP, and FTP. I honestly don't know about asp, but check them out. You can use your site through a CPanel environment as well. I think you start out with 500MB of bandwidth a month, and can receive increases by getting click throughs to their site (you are not required to post a link if you don't want to). I have enjoyed the use of fantastico and the mailing list features as well.

That being said, there are two minor downsides. The first is that as with any free server, you will experience some downtime. They are usaully good about getting it up and running ASAP. The second is that a "paid for" email address is required to get an accout. Sometimes it takes a day or two to get the approval for the accout as well. (I guess that is 3 :-o downsides)

Another server that I have recently messed around with is netrulon.com They seem excellent, but I have just started building a site with them, and know little about the service they offer. They seem to be feature rich (like offering 5 SQL databases as opposed to one). But check them out, they are the ones I have enjoyed the most.

P.S. Both have no ads for those viewing the site, but you will get popups when working with CPanel at 000k2.com

Remember to use a "paid for" email address (basically not the classic free ones such as hotmail, it will let you know if the address is invalid)

If you have any other questions about the server, I would be happy to help, as I have now helped set up accouts for 3 people on that server and had a little experience on the inner workings. They don't provide tech support for the free hosting so it can get a little confusing.

I am also having problems finding this "free hosting" offer. Please let me know where I can find it or I will have no choice but to remove the url from this thread.

Your Right, I just tried it too, I am sorry about that, it worked before...

It seem that if you go directly to that link, they take you to the server sign up that the charge for. So this is how I got to that link:

1. First go to http://www.000k2.com
2. Go down to the bottom and click on "Go to 000k now!"
3. Go about 3/4 the way down the page and click on the "Order Service" button
4. You will then be at the page where you enter your email address.

I am really sorry about the confusion

Looks like they have changed things around again (received feedback) and your previous instructions no longer work.

I am going to add their domain names to the censored list and save myself some grief.
