win xp service pack 2 folder access denied

i just upgraded my new laptop to service pack 2 (win xp) . for some reason the "my documents folder" is now checked as being read only. i uncheck it but it just goes back to read only every time! very annoying as when i try to save to my documents pc says i dont have permission!!! is it a problem linked to sp2. anyone know how to fix this - its ver irritating!
cheers

oops

i seem to have made a fool of myself.
the "my docs" folder etc is meant to be read only. but for some reason when using autoCAD it wont allow me to save to my docs - but wil allow me to save to desktop. it says access denied , any ideas?

uninstall clean disk and install agian

if that wont work then sp2 won't work with your configuration

check on microsoft.com for best advice

there could be another problem too if u burned the copy of sp2 u could have burned it wrong or used cheap media it might not haved copied all the files during burn

sp2 integrates itself in windows meaning that it bounds it self with windows
thats why it does a backup

www.microsoft.com has an article about this and the requirements for sp2

most known reason for mishaps on sp2 installation

"the configuration settings were'nt set properly on windows before install"

"don't have proper windows update's for sp2"

"is because the disc is not clean and it did noy copy all the files correctly"

i don't know the direct problem because i don't know exact setup or you're ver. of win xp and the error code i would also need to know if it was burned or not

p.s. i did'nt mean what i said about people in forums kind've i just had a bad day and everything i looked at was wroung info and i hate that

"if u don't know what ur saying don't say it at all no one wants to be dumber from wrong info"
