fltk and ncurseshm...
I know - it is hard to do... But it will very very Usefull if it done... I wrote at http://www.fltk.org as feature request it, but... How about making in fltk API wrapper for ncurses? Make midc usable in X with fltk gui? There are so many curses software in *nix system, and many people found fltk more usable vs *curses. What U say? It is possible! I can help to do it... On FreeBSD and Windows... |

Very interesting... I can definitely see why you would want to do this though. Are you thinking of ncurses as well as xcurses? I think this can be done. And I don't think it would be terribly difficult coding, but it would be painstaking and tedious. You would have to get a complete list of *curses functionality and completely map it to the fltk. Do you have a start to this or is this still just a thought? I would be interested to see how you would approach it. __________________

-why... - I use *nix more than 1 year as Desktop System and I didn`t worry about that many software use text based GUI, but many people very unstable in knowns when they see text mode (even very usefull) software. - As I know all *curses definitions are in #include <curses.h> (or so on), so it is not hard to manage it as #include <flcurses.h> for redefinition curses classes -still just a thought |
