We designed a Jewelry website (www.bestjewelryexchange.com)
The submission started almost a year ago. I am doing the submission myself, and also subscribed for the pay service. So far I am No. 305 on Google for the keyword combination "Online Jewelry Store". This is ridiculous. Obviously something is wrong: either the site is not optimized, or the compition is too strong, or...
Please help with the suggestions of what to do.

I am not familiar with the Agora shopping cart you are using but I will guess that it might have *something* to do with your low rankings.

Apart from that, what you need are more external links with the targetted keywords in the anchor text.

Do you have any other pages linking to it? What have you done in the way of optimization?

It sounds logical not to have a high ranking for this keyword combination. How many times this keyword is repeated in your content? I couldn't spot even one.

Your page title needs to start by this keyword and the same applies to the first heading ( <H1> ... </H1> ) and the first paragraph of your page. I would suggest that the density of this keyword must be around 5-15% (Density is the percentage of this keyword as compared to the rest of the textual content on your page.

Also what link title the sites that link to you are using? Is your keyword included near the beggining of the link title?

There's probably a whole essay I could write on the reasons why you don't have a higher ranking. There is no paid service that can guarantee you top placement on the google results, unless it is a professional SEO company with loads of good references.

Especially for google as with most search engines on the Internet, simply submitting your site can't do any good. Google will find you even if you've never submitted it before, as long as other websites link to you.

First off, I noticed your site is quite slow loading and search engines spiders don't wait for slow loading sites. They'll visit and if your site doesn't load right away, they leave. Secondly, the search engines like a site that is hosted on a dedicated ip and not a virtual one, so that would be another thing to have a look at. Thirdly and it was mentioned before in one of the replies, submitting a site is not optimizing the site for targeted keywords. A site that I found that has an online Optimization Question Period is at www.seo-promotioninc.com that could probably answer your questions. Hope this helps!

There's no reason why you should figure highly for that term when it isn't present in any number in your text or in your inbound links. Your best bet is to get as many inbound links as you can each having "online jewelry store" in the anchor text somewhere. This is a very time-consuming undertaking; best begin now!

By the looks of thing your site does not have a site map. The only pages google appears to have indexed are the ones from this forum. By creating a site map with every page listed you may be able to get more pages indexed on google. Then by creating copy rich pages for your selected keywords you may be able to start seeing some improvement in your rankings. You will need a lot of inbound links etc as well though.
