Press Releases
I'm thinking of submitting a free one with PRWeb.
I need help with the wording and knowing if this is "newsworthy" (for a PR standpoint, that is)
Quote:
Alias fan site lets fans of the TV show discuss and interact in new ways
Fans of the television show Alias can now discuss the show and interact with other fans of the show in whole new ways.
Alias stars Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow and airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on the ABC Television Network. It has won Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and People’s Choice Awards. The plot is centered on Sydney Bristow, a college student who is also secretly a spy for the CIA.
AllAlias.com ( www.allalias.com ), a large community of Alias fans has grown to over 800 registered members since the site changed from a regular fan site to a completely interactive one about two months ago, aims to bring together Alias fans so they can communicate with each other about the show. Features allow members to read Alias-related news and comment on it, vote in polls, discuss the latest episode and talk about everything Alias related, and even topics that aren’t Alias related at all. Members can also send “Private Messages” (commonly abbreviated PM) to other members. These messages are like emails – the member is notified the next time they log in that another user has sent them a message. Over 2,000 messages have been sent at AllAlias.com.
In the two-month period of the new site’s existence, over 20,000 posts (messages that appear for everyone to see) have been made in over 1,000 topics. Members create topics to discuss that topic with other members, and topics are groped into forums for different types of topics.
It seems the Alias fan community just can’t seem to get enough of talking with other fans about one of their favorite shows. Since March 2002, which was soon after when AllAlias.com first launched, it has received over 1,400,000 page views. That means that pages on AllAlias.com have been loaded over 1.4 million times. It is estimated that over 1,000 people visit AllAlias.com each day.
Different fans seem to have taken up different types of posting. Some prefer to read and write Fan Fiction, where fans write stories based on the characters of Alias. Many find the online and offline Alias games and merchandise intriguing. Some prefer to discuss the complex plot and characters of Alias, while others prefer to discuss the actors who portray them. Whatever an Alias fan might want to discuss, they can do it at AllAlias.com: AllAlias.com
