Cool

IMHO, Linux is better for everything except gaming...and once game companies start writing more games for linux it will rock there too!

I've heard a lot of good things about Linux but I have to admit that I'm a big windows person. I'm also a big games so maybe thats way. But I had thought about playing around with Linux sometime soon. Is there anything you should know before using Linux?

Well, reading some linux forums and newsgroups before installing it is probably a good idea, it's not the easiest system to install onto a system though i is getting easier all the time. Linux is a much more powerful OS than Windows and you have complete control over every little aspect of your machine. For power users this is a good thing for the average user it is a hassle best left to let the OS decide ala windows. X windowing has finally come into it's own now though and you can now set up your x windows in such a way that someone looking at it can't really tell you're not running Windows...for the casual observer...both systems have there plsuses and minuses and which one is better for you is mostly determined by 3 things.

Users level of computer knowledge.
What you want to do with your system.
Personal preference.
Hope this helps you out.

Linux or Windows

Hi,

As I know Microsoft mail service Hotmail is based on Unix platform

I prefer Linux and all our servers (including office machines) are Linux. But Linux requires higher computer knowledge most people do not have.

Like me

Regards

D.
