I know that this isn't the main focus here. But I was wondering how many of you here are gamers from the casual to the extreme it does matter. I wanted your thoughts on Video Game Cheating, I've been looking around forums lately and it seem to me that Cheating is very unpopular even in Single Player Games. I understand way people would get so upset about cheaters in multiplayer Games. But I'm really surprised to see people upset about other wanting to cheat in Single Player. I just wanted some of your thoughts on the subject.

I am a cheat... there - I confessed.

Actually I cheated once... ok more than once, when playing 'Tomb Raider' a LONG time ago but only to get to the next level or get all the weapons and ammo.

Nowadays though I don't, at all. It's just more fun to do it all by myself.

Why people would get upset when you talk about it, is a mystery to me. They may be kids... and it's probably just something to say on boards to look 'cool'.

Don't be so hard on yourself, I'm a cheater a BIG cheater. I will buy a game, sometimes I'll beat it before I start to cheat but then again sometimes I'll just start to cheat. But I find that in some cases cheating adds to a game, or at lease it does for me.

I find it odd that people get upset about cheating in single player games. The developers added these functions for that very purpose. It shouldn't affect their score and helps those who are weaker at the game to improve without getting killed every minute.

I don't like cheating if it helps to complete the game but if its a cheat to unlock a fun feature then i'll do so. e.g grand theft auto : the cheat that makes all the cars blow up or the pedestrion riot one. The type of cheat i dont use is the get all wepons one or recover health one.

One other thing, I used to play medal of honor online until i went and lost the dam disk, can't find the bloody thing anywere. I can understand being able to cheat in one player mode but the game developers also included cheats for the multiplayer one as well, like if you wanted to be able to run around and not be able to get killed, you would simply open the console and type dog. And no i never used it the only reason i know cos in a game there was two guys discussing it once. Thankfully theres only the odd few weirdos that cheat online. But i suppose in 1 player you can cheat if you want but it may make the game less of a challenge which i enjoy.

Just to make it clear when i say "which I enjoy" I mean I enjoy the challenge, not the fact its less of a challenge.

I agree I don't use cheat to beat a game but I love to cheat after the fact but one thing I don't like is use cheat online in server that aren't meant to cheat on. If its a server that was meant to cheat on that fine.

The only cheat i ever use is in starcraft to get more money.
mainly because i couldnt be bothered harvesting.
