I am beta-testing a new site that I set up. It is running a custom made database server in the background and I would like to get some traffic across it.

It is for a (NFL) football pick game, where you try to pick football games against the spread. This is the last preseason week and the games start thursday. Not only are you helping me out, but this should be fun!

For those interested:

• Go to www.dbcservices.com
• Click on Football Picks in the left hand side menu (at the bottom).
• Enter your desired username/password combination under Members logon. This will add you to the database automatically. The next time you logon, use this same username/password. (The username is case insensitive, but the password is case sensitive).
• You should see your username highlighted in the standings table.
• Hit the button that says "Enter Week #2 Picks"
• Select the team that you think will cover the spread and post your picks.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

OK, the obvious thing to me is that it is NOT very clear if I have to register first or simply submit the user/pass even if I KNOW I have never registered before.

So, I tried any ol' user/pass (like it was suggested) and I was in! There was a link on the page where it said: You can still view your picks here. Which promptly led me to an error indicating the following "Sorry, you have illegally accessed this site. You must enter this site from the login screen and enter a valid password/name combination.".

I ended up having to re-login and only then did that link work!

It definitely didn't help that I have no knowledge of American Football whatsoever so I was pathetical lost. No idea what I was looking at most of the time either, so I am sorry I cannot help you with any comments about the functionality of the section and what it's supposed to be doing.

One other thing I did notice however is that once I am logged in, and I click on the HOME button, it takes me back to the login page.

Hi,

You have a 'statistics' utility link that doesn't work - I'd drop that till its working.

Also, I would remove the link to have email sent to you and replace it with a "Contact Us" form so that you're not getting spammed from it.

These are my only suggestions so far - I just signed up.

Hey, I do appreciate it. Just so you know the signup portion is for a weekly football pool that lasts the entire season. It was open to the public during pre-season, but not regular season. If this is something that you are interested in PM me and I will give you the particulars.

If you do want to do something that is open, you can put in your NFL season predictions.
