Yahoo or MSN?

Hi guys,
Just wondering, what's your favorite chat messenger. For me yahoo is the best. How do you find ICQ?

Well, the only one I've tried is Yahoo, but I've heard good things about ICQ. I try to stay away from all things MS, both for personal reasons and for good computer health. ;-)

Realistically, it doesn't matter what you use as long at the people you want to talk to are all using the same one.

ICQ used to be the undisputed best, but (mainly) Russian Hackers managed to find ways to manipulate it so your contacts weren't safe and adverts galore were anonymously being sent to you. Its not worth using anymore since there's too much hassle setting it up not to receive hundreds of unwanted messages.

Yahoo is good, but the next generation of things is Skype made by the same people that invented Kazaa. You can use it as a phone and the quality is surprisingly good. It really depends on what way you want to communicate though.

During the late 90s, I was using ICQ typically 24/7 (we all go through this phase I suppose), it was the only Instant Messenger around at the time I think - so that's no wonder.

When MSN Messenger came into the picture, I tried that and never looked back. There's just so much "uh.. oh"s one can take!

From 2001 until just a few months ago, I stopped chatting online completely. Now that I have resumed chatting online (occasionally), I find MSNM too convenient to ever consider anything else.

Like JdS I started off with ICQ. Now I sparingly use both MSN & Yahoo messengers.
