Problem Building New Computer

When I first powered on my new computer everything worked fine. I then proceeded to install windows. The install froze part way through and now my computer powers up fine but nothing appears on the moniter. I checked my graphics card and it was in properly. I tested the moniter I was using on another computer and it worked fine.
Specs: P4 3GHz, 1GB PC3200 DDR RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, Asus P4800-E Deluxe Mobo, GeForce FX 5700LE 256MB

quick update....I found a LCD -> Normal Monitor converter that came with my Graphics card. I plugged it in then plugged my monitor in and turned the Comp on....I got the Graphics Card BIOS screen (first screen normally) and it got stuck there. I turned off the PC and then turned it back on after a minute and nothing came on the screen. I'm thinking now that my Graphics Card is bad. Can anyone confirm this or tell me something else?

What type of monitor is it?

I couldn't tell if you have LCD or CRT. I doubt your vc is bad out of the box, especially if it worked at first. However, do you have access to another computer where you can test the card? Or is there another vc you can borrow to test your system?

Are all your mobo settings default? If the bios settings have been modified, it could cause problems.

I tested out the Video Card and the Ram in my current computer and both worked fine. So I guess that basically narrows my problem down to the Motherboard or Processor. How exactly do I remove the Heatsink Fan that is on the processor? I tried for a bit but couldnt figure it out. There were no instuctions with the processor on how to remove it.

Depends on the heatsink

Most heatsinks require you to use a flathead screwdriver to push a tab out from under a clip, which frees the heatsink. I don't like them because they require a lot of force, and I'm always nervous the screwdriver tip will pop out and gouge my mobo.

Without knowing what type of hs you have, it's difficult to give explicit instructions.
