Getting Silver to run on XP

I think I might kill myself if I can't this classic working soon. I've tried everything the XP compatability feature can do, and nothing works.

When the game begins, the 'Harbour' scene is covered in lines and the sound stutters sometimes. I know there is a patch for the 'Harbour Bug', but it only works for the American version of game. I've tried it.

Anybody else had this problem and figured it out ? Thanks in advance for any help

Sorry it took me so long to answer your question. Could you give me some more information on the game or maybe a link so that I can take a look? I have never played that game.

http://classicgames.gl/?mode=vdms

This dos and soundcard emulator works on XP for a lot of old games.
I used the one called VDMS , it was free to download.
I have never tried the other one listed on this page.
I also saw a version of VDMS listed on sourceforge but it was only in alpha testing.
