Good question...

We allow domain names (any that you've already registered) and you have to point your own DNS services to the IP of our server (it's provided within the interface to set up your domain settings in our control panel).

If you don't have or don't want to use your own domain, then your URL is simply: http://www.freewebtown.com/your_sitename/

Thanks for letting me start that other thread on your behalf.

No, unfortunately we had some major issues in allowing cgi's and although the system itself runs on PHP we don't encourage our users to use it on our system. On a system scale like ours, it just doesn't pan out effectively as much as we would like. Performance always seems to suffer because of a user's lack of programming expertise and that's too bad for the folks who know how to use it effectively on a shared system environment.

I realize this somewhat limits a web site's potential, but for general purpose content, visual, or informational sites, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Some users link out to external sites for specific functions we don't offer and that's okay for now. We plan to address the most essential and popular features we receive requests for in the not too distant future, but development time and testing will require some patience on their part.
