Question

Appears different?

Firstly, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to all this, the first time I even attempted making a webpage being a few days ago, so sorry if I'm making some terrible blunder.

Anyways, I went through all the work of making the basic page for the site, got the layout looking as I wanted it and was ready to push on with actual content. (I checked the layout using Opera which is the broswer I use and it displayed it as I saw in the design view of dreamweaver) Then when I look in Internet Explorer the left and right hand menus (tables) have shifted down a few inches and I can't for the life of me work out why or what to do, nor can I find an answer through searching. I found the solution to one small problem here yesterday so I thought I'd might as well ask here. (At the risk of being laughed down for some simple problem)

Here's the page in any case: www.arkzein.demon.co.uk

Thanks.

The good news is that your page renders just as well with Mozilla's FireFox browser. With Internet Explorer, I am noticing what you noticed too....

I glanced through your HTML off the web page and noticed you already placed a "valign" attribute in one cell somewhere but not really sure where exactly.

Look at your markup again and try it after making this initial change in your HTML

HTML Code:
<!-- snipped HTML --> <th style="vertical-align:top" scope="col" height="162"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" height="100%" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <th scope="col" height="29"><img src="Info.gif" height="30" width="146"></th> <!-- the rest of your HTML -->

Notice the <th style="vertical-align:top" bit in the markup example above...

Many thanks for that, it worked like a charm Though there is still a large gap bellow the end of the Information table and the Contact us Image, even when doing the same below. I'll probably work it out now that I'm pointed in the right direction I'd wager in any case.

Thanks again, even though as it turned out those for whom I was doing this didn't mind either way, it was annoying me rather a lot not being able to figure it out and get things look as well as I could.
