Gmail Account Filled

This is an interesting article...

http://kevinrose.typepad.com/kr/2004...esting_gm.html

Sounds like someone has fiilled their entire GMail account.

Quote:
...the account is full! It took 686 email messages that were received on July 12th-15th. For some reason Gmail allowed me to go past my 1000MB limit to 1023MB (1GB=1024MB). The account can no longer receive mail messages (they are bounced) or send outgoing mail. The strange thing is that Google doesn't send any type of warning emails once you are nearing or reach your limit - but I'm sure this will be added in the final release...

Email full and no email warning that it's full. What a disgrace!

I'm curious if this guy was scouring for a way to fill up his e-mail account. It just seems pretty unrealistic for a person to have "naturally" filled up a 1 GB account so quickly!

Did you read the entire article he wrote? He didn't just open his inbox one day wondering why his account is full. He asked thousands of people to send him the 5 MB attachments.

The page didn't load for me, so I relied on your snippet. But I guess that just proves that Gmail offers more space than anyone will ever need.

Now when someone fills up their inbox with plain old Joe e-mails, now THAT'S news.

I bet there'd be a different story if this guy suddenly decided to copy his inbox into 20 other Gmail accounts!
