default drive


is there a function in c/mfc that tells you the default/system drive.....so that files can be saved to the hard drive and not the cd-rom etc.......?

Hi gmn. Not sure if this will do you any good or not, but the system drive is stored in a system variable. See this post for details.

I don't do alot of windows specific programming, so I don't know of a good way to get this info programmatically, but maybe this will give you a start.

cheers for that but not sure how i'd make use of it in code....

(so i'm still stuck on this if anyone else has any bright ideas)
