Hello ponpots,
How do you know that Yahoo is not crawling your site(s) often? Previously, inktomi was just as aggresive as googlebot crawling my web pages. Now that it's part of Yahoo, it's still crawling as before - regularly and sometimes daily. For example, www.gidsearch.com was soft launched less than 2 months ago, i.e. June 1st, 2004 and within days, the first visit by Yahoo! Slurp was recorded in my logs for the site. Incase you're wondering still, the Yahoobot conects from (host): inktomisearch.com and usually has a user-agent labeled: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Yahoo! Slurp; http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/slurp). All you have to do is get your links on web pages already indexed by Yahoo and usually it will follow through to your website - as simple as that. I know this cause I didn't submit www.gidsearch.com to Yahoo's add url page, so I must assume it found the new site from my signature here on gidforums. __________________

What page are you referring to on Yahoo! I've been searching for something similar to that, but haven't been able to locate it.

Yahoo!'s Submit Your Site is what your looking for. However, it does require you to register with a Yahoo! account, which is relatively painless before you can actually submit.

It can't be for the lack of "Last-Modified" HTTP Headers off your web pages since they're set (I checked) - so Yahoobot must be ignoring HTTP response headers or cannot detect changes like that as efficiently as Googlebot...

Google has just started visiting my site, often. Three times this month. As for Yahoo Slurp, that's exactly what it is... it just "slurps" the main page! ( at least for me). pretty brainless. thus, I have nothing more than my main page indexed with Yahoo, but Google has alot more (and found even more of my pages during its last visit, since I optimized it ).

I used to add that meta tag in my web pages in the 90s; now I hardly think about it and do not have it inserted anywhere on my pages, still I get the important search engine bots visiting my web pages every other day if not daily.
In a nutshell, the REVISIT-AFTER meta tag is useless, for now... at least to the popular search engine spiders and bots. __________________
