What type of motherboard/bios are you working with? And for the overclocking, it too depends on the motherboard/bios/cpu combo.

I hope this is your computer that you're working with... The simplest way to reset your bios password is to pull out that little battery for a maybe half a minute. There are two ways to overclock. Front-side-bus and multiplier settings. If you would like me to explain in more detail, say so. About your last question, google 'softFSB.' You should find it. I don't know if there's a program to increase the multiplier, though. __________________

multiplier * FSB = CPU speed. In my opinion, FSB overclocking has more risks than multiplier overclocking. FSB overclocking involves more than the CPU. Overclocking the front-side-bus may cause problems with other things in your computer, because other buses may be affected. Modifying the multiplier setting only has an effect on the CPU. With FSB overclocking, you simultaneously modify FSB and CPU speeds. (To change the FSB alone, you would have to do a little math and decrease the multiplier). It's easier to look after one thing than everything else in the computer. I prefer multiplier overclocking over FSB overclocking because of that. Occasionally, for your CPU to be stable, you need to bump up the core voltage. Do this in VERY small increments, if at all. Oh, and don't forget to chill... 8-) __________________

If you built your computer, and bought the motherboard alone, then I'm sure you can do this. If you bought an OEM computer (Dell, HP, etc.), then it may or may not. To overclock via the multiplier setting, there are two ways. If you have a newer motherboard, it will be in the bios. If you have an old MB, then there are either jumpers or dipswitches. If you have those, you should find documentation on your exact MB so you know which switches/jumpers to mess with. Remember to increase these settings in small increments, and or read up on other peoples' experiences with your particular CPU. BTW, what kind of processor do you have? __________________
