PageRank comes to FirefoxAlas,
Us weary webmasters don't have to run IE to view Google PageRank. Here's a Firefox plugin that does the job. Hope it was done with G's consent so that it stays around. http://pagerankstatus.mozdev.org/installation.html |

Man this is perfect! No more IE for MEEEEEEEEEEE unless I'm at work of course. By the way version 0.4 has come out onto the website http://www.tapouillo.com/firefox_extension/ if your wanting the burning edge. I've only been testing it for a few minutes so I don't know if there are any glitches or whatnot. I just wanted to say that whilst google have been very good on a lot of things on the net they've been dragging their heels when it comes to cross platforming their software, I hope this gives the pleasure to browsing for other people too.
Back it up though as you may find Google come down hard on the project since no-one is supposed to call the pagerank servers apart from when its from their own software and you won't find it online anymore. We'll see. Rob |

The Google Pagerank Checksum CalculatorThis is great news for people like me who fire up Microsoft's Internet Explorer just to check a website's PageRank. I was also expecting this to happen sooner or later since the information to calculate a web page's PageRank (The Google Pagerank Checksum Calculator) was recently made public by these people: http://alex.vort-x.net/google/

Development has been going fast on this little baby, its now up to version 0.8.
You can install direct from here: Firefox version: : install or download (v0.8) Firefox version: : install or download (v0.7) Mozilla version: : install or download (v0.7) Recent updates have been a combination of fixing errors and added enhancements like the ability to disable on a single tab or window if you so wish. Hello,
try this service:www.prsearch.net. It shows your PR, inbound links and you can check your website in Google position. |

Hello prsearch.net,
You're too late! ![]() The ONLY reason why sites such as the one in your post ever needed to exist is cause webmasters who do NOT use Microsoft's Internet Explorer did not have access to Google PageRank information. Now with a 'hacked' extension available for Mozilla/Firefox users (as described in this very thread) sites like yours have become redundant. Anyway, I wish you luck with your website. __________________

That is a good tool, but I use IE anyway so it is not a big difference for me. What browsers are you all using anyway?

That PR search thing doesn't even seem to work right.... I know I'm in the top 10 on Google for some of my articles (even with my 0 google ranking - go figure!), but PR search doesn't even find anything...

Sweet, but what about Alexa?Quote:
This is indeed great (especially considering all the risks lately with IE) but what about Alexa's toolbar for IE. I like the rankings they do as well. Any comments/thoughts on Alexa vs. or in combination with Google's PageRank? Now that Google is officially a public entity, I hate to really on them alone for anything... ________ Mike_FWT | http://www.freewebtown.com "Extending the power of people online" |
