Question

Possible virus?

Norton quarantined a file on my computer called "system.exe". Does this sound like a virus file or is it something legitimate?
Also, every time I run Spybot, it comes up with 2 entries for DSO Exploit. What is this and how do I get rid of it for good?

For more on DSO exploit visit this site;

I would also run the Windows update because I am pretty sure M$ has plugged this hole.

DSO,s are like being in the middle of the ocean water,water everywhere
and none worth having,Spybot has an updated version that will keep out the dso,hijackers,avenue A,s ,of the sort you may just need to update it......
something to think about.......

For those that don't know Spybot - Search and destroy is an adaware/scumware destroyer, which is very effective in what its designed to do. Another killer app part of it is the fact that you can effectively block a lot of Internet related (dare I say it Internet explorer) problems, by blacklisting a load of known processes. Your OS will be cleaner in no time.

Yeah, I actually downloaded Firefox not long ago...I'm using it with Spywareblaster. I haven't had any security issues since. Each time I run Spybot, the DSO Exploit shows up which makes me think I won't be able to completely remove it. I went to graymagic.com and checked the registry entry they said could resolve the DSO problem, but my registry value was already set to what they recommended. Go figure.
