IE and AOLDoes anyone know if the AOL browser uses the Internet Explorer browser? Most of the error messages I get involve IE... I'm wondering because of all the Internet Explorer scares out there and a "mass Russian hacking attack." I've gotten some trojans recently without opening downloaded executables. It's more of an inconvenience than anything else... And of course curiosity!

Reason: <Sigh> typo. I was raised by a proof reader.

AOL bought Netscape, and I think it uses the Netscape core Gecko in it's AOL browser. You should not be half as susceptible as IE users. (I still use IE, but with a good firewall)

Yesterday, I read something on the Net. It was a post in some forum that I went to off a link in another forum kinda thing. So I don't remember the url to link to it from here. Basically, what the person said was that even if you use Mozilla FireFox or some other non-IE browser; if you're on Windows, you STILL NEED to get your updates (to your OS and IE) done!
I don't know if that's true but it certainly seemed logical to me since they've intergrated IE into the operating system and that includes the vulnerabilities too, I suppose! __________________

I don't know how M$ got away with it (after the big trial), but IE seems pretty well entrenched in ME/2000/XP.
