Question

Password Access

I need to learn how to automatically send a password to a visitor's email address they provide when they fill out a form. The password will then allow them access to a restricted area. Also when a visitor enters wrong password they get rejected with a message advising them to register for password.

Any help is much appreciated.

What script language are you using to process your site on the server? Are you using a database or text files to store information on the site?

I am still in the process of building the site and have come across this problem/niggle. Others have told me I need to use PHP and MYSQL, which I will need to learn. What do you suggest?

Thanks for your help.

I suggest you do a search for a "User management script" that allows you to have a member.

Check out Google and hotscripts.com. Also, do you have a price range you are thinking about spending?

As long as your server can handle it, PHP & MySQL is a good choice.
Another option is Perl
Third is ASP & Access.

Generally, if the server is a Linux server, PHP or Perl with MySQL
If the server is a Windows server, ASP or Perl, with Access or MySQL

If you have a choice, go with PHP & MySQL
