USB 2.0 HDD Housing 3.5” - i-Buddie Problems

I have a portable computer - Toshiba S5100-201.
I have bought a i-Buddie - USB 2.0 HDD Housing 3.5”.
I've been working with this Housing with USB1 interface, because my computer doesn't have USB2, and it works pretty well...
In order to increase transfer speed I've bought a Conceptronic CSP480C2, wich is a 2 ports USB2.0 card for notebooks.
This card is working well because I've tryed to connect to it other stuff, like an external CD writer.
But when it concerns connecting the i-Buddie - USB 2.0 HDD Housing 3.5”, the computer doesn't recognize it. The only drivers available for the Housing are for WIN98SE...

CAN ANYONE HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM???

Thanks in advance!!

Conceptronic CSP480C2 problems???

Hello Carlos,

I also bought an Conceptronic CSP480C2 to connect my external DVD writer to my Toshiba 1900-305. It works well if connected alone to the Conceptronic CSP480C2. However, if I connect another external USB device like a digital camera, my computer freeze. The Conceptronic CSP480C2 comes with an cable to connect to the PS2 port. I think that is an external power supply for the Conceptronic CSP480C2. Anyway, I cannot use this cable because my Toshiba does not have PS2.
Problably your problem is the same as mine. What is your actual situation?

Regards,
JC Outeiro

Wow, what a coincidence, wish I could say the same, I'd love a lil storage device like that.

Anyway, I've done a bit of research, but haven't come up with much. I found this post:
www.pcreview.co.uk
which is far from encouraging. It's also bizarre, a conglomeration of verious i-Buddie problems (the name is used for a laptop too).

However I don't believe this - no selfrespecting company wi=ould release a product which doesn't work properly on 2k/XP. I'll look further &see if I've any luck. Anyone else?

Also could you give as much error info as poss? What does it say in device manager etc...
