server specs should be ok these days... that should not be the problem...
good support is something you should look for if you don't know a lot of things youself. then you should also think about the size of your site(s). a lot of space also requires a lot of bandwitdh/traffic. if you upload a 1Mb movie you can expect every visitor to download that movie. big sites get a lot of traffic this way. |

Everything equals out. In order to have a good service, you need to have support.
Specs vary. You could have a Dual Xeon with 1000 clients, or slower machine with only 500. You will have to ask that specific company about it. I have heard very good things about http://www.bluewho.com. I would stop by their and take a look at what they have to offer. 2GB Space and 30GB transfer should be enough to start off. __________________

No one asked the obvious question...
Is there any money to be made? |

There are just so many resellers out there...you have to have some sort of a business plan. Before you decide to purchase any type of hosting, spend a week or so reading the message board of your prospective hosting providers. Also ask about them on forums like this and check out some dedicated webhosting forums like WebHostingTalk. You might be surprised at what you find.

For a minute there, I actually forgot that most people use Reseller Accounts to actually resell the service! All this time, I only looked at reseller hosting as a means to host multiple websites of my own easily.
However, I agree with Div's suggestion: nothing beats a bit of research on forums where your prospective web host hangs out regularly. I was fortunate, I found my current web host this way and I am STILL hosted with them (2 years later) - never once considering moving away from them. Also, to answer the question in your thread title, I would give "Support Quality" priority No.1. __________________

As others have said, support and service are the most important aspects of any reseller account. But don't forget to inquire about the cap on data transfer. If they claim that you are allotted "unlimited" data transfer, I would just walk away--those hosts tend to shut down sites for unreasonably low bandwidth usage. If they do have a transfer cap, choose a package that suits you. Remember: you shouldn't ever have to refuse hosting to any site on account of their traffic.
