i'm newbie..and saw many threads..i should say this website is WORTH IT.. verrryy goooooooooddd..... i love it now..


I have direct connection to the internet and have an static IP. now what I am trying to do is make my computer a webserver which have good connection speed.
Ok i got the website i made it thru Frontpage... now the problem is I have used forms in some of my links. and that forms need Frontpage extension.
I installed frontpage extension into my computer then also whenever someone click Submit on the form the error comes as follows:

FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Tried many things... i would like you people to visit yourself and check it out so that its easy for you guys to help me out here.. http://210.7.70.187/H-121.htm ..

I just want that, forms work ..thats it nothing else... no matter how they work..

I know people out here are very much advanced than me..ofcourse..

I think you'll get some responses if you tell us how you did that; at least tell us the web server you've got set up in your box...

actually this my computer just celeron 1.7 ghz. and I would like it to use as webserver... i have buyed a domain http://www.hymaticagro.com
and i would be redirecting it to my static IP which i gave above.
I downloaded frontpage extension 2002 from microsoft website...i thought tht may be needed... guys u must be knwing...how to get Frontpage extension get into work...???!? Say yes pls..
u gotta help me outtt here..!!
if this much information is not much.... u shud visit the link i posted above.. tht wud help... or ask me more...i'm ready to give as much information you want..

Give us a link to where the page about this download is on the Microsoft website. I'd never heard of it before and you definitely don't need it.

I DOWNLOADED FRONTPAGE SERVER EXTENSION ..COZ I THOUGHT I WOULD BE NEEDING IT... AS I'M NOT USING ANY HOSTING SERVICE..AND WOULD BE MAKIN MY HOME COMPUTER A WEBSERVER USING IIS.. SO THE FORMS BUILDED UP IN FRONTPAGE WONT RUN...
AND YES AFTER THE INSTALLATION... IT ISN'T RUNNIN TILL NOW....

USING CAPITALS LIKE THIS IS SEEN AS SHOUTING IN THE WEBTERNET COMMUNITIES....

Anyway, for everyone's reference there are two small semi-helpful articles about frontpage server extensions and this. Maybe they will help you coolraghav.

Personally I think you should dump IIS because its a pile of poo and go for Apache with MYsql and some PHP.
