upgrading to fedorahey, im currently running rh9 and want to upgrade to fedora. should i do a clean install or upgrade? im extremely noobish with linux, and i haven't used it much since install because of apm! i wish i could put the damn thing in suspend! thats why i wish to upgrade. any help would be appreciated

Unless you have some reason that you don't want to do a clean install, I would definitely go that route. Then make sure to upgrade your kernel to the most recent kernel. I have done a mini-tutorial here. I am not sure which kernel Fedora is shipping with right now, but the 2.6 kernels are really making improvements in the power management schemes. Also, ACPI is something that you should look closely at if you build a new kernel. Good luck! PS - do you ever read your PM's? ![]() |
