Dmonix is on a distinguished road

Howdy

Hey I am Dmonix, I have been a Netizen for a good 7yrs now. After quickly learning to browse the web I found a nifty lil program called Active Worlds which is a virtual community. After learning to "build" in Active Worlds then pruchasing two of my own worlds which I ran for over 3 yrs and established a virtual community of over 200 "citizens", each with their own unique virtual property and unique builds on those properties.
I am a "hack" html webmaster. I learned how to make webpages by "view source" and geocities homepages. Now I use Dreamweaver, and am slowly getting a little better.
My domain www.dmonix.net houses some of my works on the web (not to be confused with dmonix.com, she was a "cam whore" as they call them). Feel free to drop by and visit.
My background is in the entertainement industry, in Music, Special Effects Make up and I just finished working for 5 years at Electronic Arts Canada. Hope I can learn more and get some more work done with all your help!

Hi dmonix. I would have replied sooner, but I have been busy over at dmonix[dot]com.

Seriously, welcome aboard. I am glad to see another hack around here. These guys are so professional at times.

This is a "Satallite Map" of my "World". It was generated by a map viewer that compiled objects and their density in the world.

AW had a browser you installed which then put you in their immersive environment. There you could chat live with other people from all over the world. You all had articulate 3D avatars, which based on the model were anything from humans to buggy eyed monsters. In later versions I actually imported Maya and 3DS max avatars into the program through conversion in Truespace to Active Worlds .rwx model types (some vid game companies use this for thier models). These "worlds" also have libraries or "object yards". So users can pick out a "plot of land" and then build whatever they can make out of the objects provided by the Aw program itself or you could make your own in like I said any number of model programs and then convert them to rwx and import them. Which is what we got almost 90% of my egyptian world to.
