Force Feed back joysticks profiles

Can I get some help?
I bought a logitect force feedback joystick that I had to return, because I couldn't get it to work right.

REFERENCE GAME:
BattleField 1942.
I bought this joystick because of the claims FEEL JOYSTICK MOVE TO DIFFERENT FIRING, like machine gun & getting hit with bullets & crashing etc etc...
Here is the problem. If you don't setup a profile the joystick acts like a regular stick, no force feedback. When ever I tried to setup a profile for BF. The profile conflicts with the game controling the joystick movements.
And there is no force feedback? EA games didn't help at all in answering my question " does BF support force feedback joysticks?"
I found out that BF trying to control the joystick one way and the profile doing it another way, is where the problem is. You need BF to tell the game how to work the joystick, so I don't see a way around it.
help, so I can buy the joystick back that I returned.
