Hi everyone,

I've just bought one of these cards and it keeps freezing my system when i try to play games. I bought it to help me enjoy FarCry which was running ok before (if not a little jumpy) but now it freezes up completely, as does Unreal 2003. I also freezes on the DirextX diagnostics tests

I have:

Pentium4 2.4 Ghz
Asus P4S800 800Mhx FSB
1Gb DDR 400MHz
400W PSU

I have downloaded and installed all the latest drivers form the nVidia website

Can someone please help

Check the temperature of the video card, CPU and the system. If the temperature is getting to high in the VC, CPU or the system it can cause lock-ups. Let me know if this helps.

The temperatures are all fine, it's really annoying me actually i was really looking forward to getting stuck into farcry

I know this is a little off topic here but when you play Far Cry could you please let me know if you had problems with it lag up with there is a lot going on. My system seems to slow way down during game play when there's a lot going on a once.

Hi pcxgamer.

I'm running an AMD 1800Xp with 512 RAM and a Gainward GeForce FX5600

I also seem to have a problem with my FX5600, it keeps freezing after a couple of minutes of playing FarCry. I have tried reloading my drivers and have verified that they are correct and signed. There aren't any heat problems either.

I read in one of your posts on 27-Apr-2004 23:02 that you helped CRIN with a similar problem - however you helped them MSN so I couldn't read the solution

Like Crin, I'v bought one Geforce 5700 card (mine is a ASUS V9570 256Mb) and all 3D games I have are freezing within 5-20 min of game. The screen fades to black and I'm forced to reset the computer.

I've already installed the latest drivers and updated my BIOS with no result. Please, can anyone help me with this?

I have:

AMD Athlon XP 2000+
Asus A7N266-VM
512 Mb DDR

Hi , i am also experiencing troubles when playing everquest as well as Planetside with my new Geforce 5700 Ultra card.
I used to run a Geforce 3 videocard and it used to run well.
The problems i get when playing planetside are quite unusual.

It fires up ok , but as soon as i am facing avatars of people that need to be rendered i lose massive FPS.
After a while i can see textures missing on buildings and avatars , but if i ctrl alt del and bring up taskmanager i get the textures back and the FPS increases a little, for a while.
But it degrades over time to an unplayable level.
Also just before the system is halted i cant initialize the task manager , i get an error popup saying it cant initialize taskmgr.exe.

If i reboot the system it usually starts working again.
But sometimes during boot i get no screen , which might lead me to believe that it might be a power supply issue.
I use a 340W powersupply at the moment.

System specs:

Motherboard: ASUS P4S8X-X
CPU: P4 2,53 GHz
RAM: 1024 MB
HD: Hitachi UATA 100 , Seagate UATA 66
OS: Windows XP
Power: 340 W
CD Burner

Also run a 80 mm case fan as well as a Zalman 80 mm CPU fan.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
