Question

Font Installation

Hi, I have an intersting problem and need some assistance. I have a website i have built using Front Page and front page extensions. I know I know, alot of people do not like it, but it is a private site for my family history. The problem I have is I used a font for the text on the site, and it is not a standard font installed in Windows XP. I was wondering how I would offer an Install on Demand windows to pop up and ask the user if they wish to allow the font to be installed.

Can somebody help, the site is www.ourfamilygenealogy.org

thanks

Kevin

Script MT Bold is a default font installed on XP Pro, you could copy the font onto your web site, and provide a download link to that font via a hyperlink. Also, if you do not have a font installed on a website you visit I believe IE automatically asks you to download it... I think so at least.

Btw, if you don't want to get a bunch of spam messages, delete your email address from your post.

One problem with that idea...
As a core component of Windows XP Pro, the font packages are covered by the M$ copyright on the OS. A better solution might be to check here. Better yet, specifiy an alternate font in your site's CSS.

When I built the page I used cotillion font not the mt bold font that is listed on some peoples browsers. I have in the past offered it for download, but want to streamline the process by having it prompt the user to download the and install the font automatically, so the user does not have to worry about doing it themselves.
