JdS will become famous soon enough

What does "RSS" stand for ... exactly?

I know what RSS is, but I never actually gave much thought to what the letters R-S-S really mean before last Monday.

I searched and searched but found many different 'definitions' for the acronym.

Some say:
  • RSS - RDF Site Summary
  • RSS - Really Simple Syndication
  • RSS - Rich Site Summary
So, which is it?

Like you said, it depends who you ask.

RDF Site Summary
http://docs.kde.org/en/3.1/kdenetwor.../glossary.html

Really Simple Syndication
http://www.oclc.org/research/referen...cronyms_pz.htm

Rich site summary
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/gens.../glossary.html

I will go with "RDF Site Summary"
http://web.resource.org/rss/1.0/
