How do I choose

I want to get a new graphics card. currently got a FX 5600 256MB and I am upgrading to FX 5900 128MB.

My problem is which brand to choose from.
Leadtek dissapointed me lately with my current 5600.

I'm trying to decide between MSI, Giga-Byte, Leadtek, A-Open.

Also which brand will I be able to get the best "upgrade" options from. "Upgrades meaning Bios updates and all. If there is such a thing though.

Any help will be appreciated.
Also looking for a online comparison site that compares brand names instead of models.

Couple of sites

Have you looked at Tom's Hardware, Anandtech, or ExtremeTech? They have great reviews which should tell you what you want to know.

In a nutshell though, most boards nowdays aren't terribly different from the reference boards put out by Nvidia and ATI, meaning it's difficult to find big differences between boards from different manufacturers. Usually it comes down to price and customer service.

With new models coming out every few months, flashing the BIOS is really a moot poiint; I'm not aware of many companies even offering it for video cards. Driver updates are usually had straight from Nvidia or ATI, so that's not a big issue either.

Regarding comparison sites, if you mean prices, Anandtech has pretty good price guides that are updated monthly. Pricewatch is one of the biggest "true" price search engines.

Hope that helps.
