registry issue

well i want to know how to make a copy (read: backup) of registry in WIN XP. In WIN98 i just used to copy the two registry files to some other folder and restore as and when needed...

when i try to do that in XP.. it says file in use.. then how to do what i did in 98..

plz plz dont suggest any 'backup software', i want a manual but effective way.

anyone, plz?

Hello meet_raman,

Did you read this already? http://support.microsoft.com/default...N-US;322756#2B

There may be other, easier ways but I wouldn't even know since I don't use Windows XP.
