Question

Motherboards

I am looking to buy a new motherboard and a new video card. I have the video card already chosen(www.newegg.com) but I have absolutely no idea which motherboard to buy. I want one that has a processor in it already(or comes with it, whatever).. mine is only an AthlonXP 1700+(1.47ghz). So what I am looking for is a motherboard with an AGP slot, an AMD processor that is fairly up to date(64bit = bad) for all under $250. Some tips/recommendations on fans/heatsinks would be greatly appreciated as I have never installed a motherboard/processor before.

Thanks for the help.

Looking at NewEgg, the AMD Athlon XP 3000+ "Barton", 333 FSB, 512K Cache Processor - Retail + a decent Abit or Gigabyte m/b like the GIGABYTE KT600 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket A CPU, Model "GA-7VT600 1394" -RETAIL should run you under $250.

Hm.. the $161 for a 500mhz speed increase doesn't sound too hot. What would you recommend if I went with Intel instead of AMD?

Processor: www.newegg.com

Do motherboards normally come with onboard sound/lan/video? I don't know if I have a sound card or if its onboard. I have an ethernet adapter, that would be the onboard LAN right?
