Question

Another FX 5600 problem (but with details that might shed light on this)

Okay, this is more of a post for my friend but after may it will probably be my problem too....okay

Running VIA KT600 chipset and windows 2000 ... many of you already see the problem, si?....okay well patched.....downloaded every patch windows update has..the problem is of course, 256MB video card..bios is running it at 8x...but when doing multiple benchmarks on windows 2000, agp is only running at 2x, while yet again, bios is running agp at 8x.. perhaps this is the same problem many other win2k users are having?.....does ANYBODY know how you'd bump up the agp speed in windows 2000? or other solutions w/ links?

Maybe Windows is reporting it wrong try using Powerstrip and/or WCPUID. Also VIA has had problems with advanced AGP modes in the past and this may be your problem. It may also be that the nvidia drivers are forcing the x2 rate. Many drivers do that when they know there is some sort of compatibility issue between some boards and video cards.

Question

Fx5600 Bad

O.K. I get it now, after seeing all the posts, that the FX5600 is not a good card.

I run a AMD 2400, 512MB (Dual) DDR 400 Ram, on a MSI K7N2Delta Motherboard. Obviously a FX 5600 256MB RAM (leadtek) card. 2x 80GB Seagate Hard drives. Not a to bad system. I run the Downloaded drivers off Nvidia's site 56.something... I run "Far cry" not to bad, even though it needs a kick butt PC. But my problem is in Deus EX: Invisible War.

Now my argument is that far cry is a more advanced game than Deus Ex, but Deus ex runs worse than far cry. I run far cry @ 1024x768 all settings set to normal and no hassles, Deus ex is set to (wait for it) 640x480 everything low, and still LAGS. Why?

I have a friend with a Ti 4200, 2000 CPU and 256MB DDR333 Ram and he runs it 800x600 everything set to normal and works fine.

I also heard that you can do BIOS upgrades for your graphics cards. Where can Find an upgrade for the Leadtek GeForce FX 5600 256MB card?

Can someone help me with this issue?
and can someone tell me where I can find the original .exe for Deus Ex: Invisible war.
