help with 3D graphics


Hi,
I am new with C++ programming.
Can anybody help me with creating a cylinder in 3D space and rotate it using a mouse.
Please help me with a sample code.

Well, if you're new to programming in general, you'll soon figure out that this task is more complex than it might sound. In order to accomplish it, you will most likely need to learn a graphics API like Direct3d or OpenGL. I'm sorry, but graphics programming falls into my area of interest too. I've been programming in C++ for about 6 months now and I just haven't been able to get a good grasp on graphics API without knowing all of the basic programming concepts. If you really want to try, though, there are plenty of websites on the net with tutorials and code from graphics API stuff. You can also download source code at www.sourceforge.net for programs that use 3d graphics.

Do you have any specific example that is simple enough to get me started with the development process.Since i have a very less time left with my project

Unless your task is simpler than you let on, I really don't think it's possible for you to complete it without significant knowledge of C++ and graphics API. What were the prerequisites for the class? Try asking some of the other students, as they may know more about what's going on and how to solve the problem.
