Slight increase in Netscape users?

over the past month or so, i noticed a slight jump in Netscape users on desilva.biz. I was confused cause it usually reports itself as Netscape 6.

I remember I hated Netscape 6 and it had a bug in it that they offered an update just as soon as it was released the first time; so why this version seems to be around in growing numbers confused me... until, I downloaded Mozilla 1.0! Mozilla reports itself as Netscape 6!

So, safe to say Mozilla is fast becoming a webmaster favourite or am I just dreaming? I can see why it would appeal to webmasters / hard-core internet users only...

I'll have to check my logs - though from what I remember, Netscape really seems to have fallen off a cliff.

As an aside, is the content management on you site your own code or are you using a customized version of another package?

i am not currently using any CMS on desilva.biz, it's just include here, require there and the rest - HTML.

however, i am working on one right now - it explains the missing articles for quite some time now... the new design of desilva.biz is going to be faster, using a db, templates and urls will be without query strings.

why? are u looking for one?

I am just going through the section on Hotscripts.com.

I have to see if my provider has any dislikes for PHP Nuke.

Charlie is an unknown quantity at this point
1.65% of my users use "Netscape" which is 4.x or lower
3.88% of my usres use "Mozilla" which is NS6 or NS7 or Mozilla itself

That makes 5.53% NS/Mozilla users on my site (my site is not webmaster or computer related).

That's higher than my %, 2.98. Yet I think a lot of the unknown OSs (1.73%) are Macs (OS X). This month I've had 4 visitors using Linux, making that 0.04%.
