Question

Power Supply hub??

Does some sort of 4-pin hub exist for power supply connectors, such as USB hubs? My main goal is to attach more 'stuff' but I have no more connectors. I know I can go out and buy a new PS with about a dozen connectors, but I like to do things the hard way.

If you want to do it the hard way, build one to your specs

I've never seen a hub, but I have used "Y"'s before. You could daisy chain these, but I have learned by sad experience that the number of power connectors on a power supply generally is a pretty good indicator of how many items you can hook into it without overloading it. One or two splits to lightweight devices isn't a huge deal. If you are talking so many devices that you want a hub, look into getting a bigger power supply as well.

Ok, cool. So where would I find a 'Y?' Radioshack perhaps? Or would I need to use simple techniques and make one (with parts from radioshack)? Hey, I love radioshack. Well, I'm sure I can solder something up.. but I would still need the plastic connector thingy. Hey does anyplace have that? sorta lost here..

No, Radio shack should definitely have these pre-made for a couple of bucks. I bash Radio Shack alot, but they actually carry a pretty diverse selection of items. The most irritating thing about radio shack is the unknowledgeable high school they have working solo in the store. (my apologies to all unknowledgable high school students )

HEY! What about all of us unknowledgeable high school. That’s a big word for an unknowledgeable high school. Anyways I agree I buy a lot of my wiring and other little things from RS. Great store for that and I just try and avoid the help.

He-he. It would help if I could use proper grammar in my posts I guess. I actually base this on a brother-in-law that I have that works (worked?) there. Nice kid, but not exactly the person I want to go to for electronics or computer advice. (Please, don't let him be a member here...)
