Some Apache Help Please

Hi guys I am new here and I wanted to take the time to say hello. So ... Hello.

I also have a couple of questions that I would like to thank ya'll in advance for answering.

I run two computers at my home each with windows 7 (64 on one and 32 on the other). The 32 bit I have decided to retire and just use my new laptop as my secondary. Then I started thinking; I have like 8 hard drives of varying sizes, I was wondering if I could install them into my old machine (by means of a scsi card or some other means) and use Apache to make my old machine into a server.

So here are my questions:

1) I have never tried to run a server before (though I have run linux on my old laptop before - Ubuntu to be exact). How difficult is it to do so?
2) can several drives be installed into my old machine and if so how many and by what means (scsi card etc ...)
3) Is apache compatable with Windows 7 - in other words will I be able to access my server from my windows 7 Machine?
4) What advice would you give to someone doing this, and does anyone know of a guide that I could follow
5) Would apache be the best for this venture or should I go with something like Windows Server or something like that
6) Do I even need a Server program at all ... could this be done with windows 7 or XP or anything else

The specs on the computer I am thinking about doing this on are:

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 1.80 GHz (32 bit)
Ram: 1 Gig DDR
Mainboard: Intel D845GBV
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 440

Thanks in advance you guys
