How soon does googlebot crawl the rest of the pages off a NEW site

As many of you already know, I soft-launched a new site on March 11th, 2004.

Previously, I never tracked information like this, so it was an opportune moment for me to see just how many days it takes for googlebot to crawl the entire site after the initial URL submission of a new site.

I submitted the homepage on March 11th, 2004 and I am excited to report here in this thread today that googlebot finally crawled the entire site yesterday, i.e. March 18th.

So, it just takes about a week! I hope someone finds this information useful.

Thanks for the information. However, I would think that it crawled the site coming from a link on gidforums, correct?

Does that fact that there are a lot of links to the GIDWebHosts in GIDForums make a difference in the time it took in order to get the entire site crawled?

If I submitted my site, wouldn't it take a little bit longer to get crawled?

Hard to say Bobby, I actually submitted the homepage of the site to Google's 'add url' page, 1 day before adding the links here or anywhere else on my network of sites.

I have seen Gbot chomp down on a whole site anywhere from 7 days to 2 months.

If anyone is STILL interested I noted the FIRST referral off Google to a web page on gwebhosts yesterday. The query / phrase searched was for a web host's company name so it's not worth mentioning here. However, it was exciting to note that first hit off Google!

There seems to have a PRand backlinks update at Google...I know that Gbot had been very busy over the last few weeks.

I just noticed it while surfing...I am not using a special datacenter IP. Gidforums is PR6 and the new Webhosts site has a 5 on the main page.

Excellent news... I just checked it myself and I am glad. You're not doing too bad yourself, you've got a 6 on WebHost2Go! Thanks for the info, Div.

I don't know though...I get this eerie feeling that Google has PR is a little inflated. I get that impression from a lot of sites I track, sites that have quite easily moved to PR 7s and 8s, and from chatter on a few other boards.

We'll have to see if these values stick and if they are followed up with better SERPs and higher traffic.
