Clubhost is full of it! First off, it clearly states in their TOS that you only get 1GB monthly transfer, even though they claim to give 10GB. Also, it is true, no ads on your site. However, they do have blind redirects to their AMZ pay hosting homepage. This wouldn't be so bad IF THEY TOLD YOU ABOUT IT. But no, they try to hide it. I was hosted with them for two weeks and I was told it was because the "File not found" page was setup to do that. However, even AFTER I CHANGED the "File not found" page to stop doing it, I STILL GOT REDIRECTIONS. When I tried to confront the site admin at clubhost, CyberToad, about this, he just banned me and tried to make it sound like I was wrong because he didn't even fully read my post. I told him that even after I changed the "File not found" page I still got the redirects and he just avoided that statement completely and said that the "File not found" page was the reason and then he banned me so I couldn't reply to correct him. If you read this Toad, you seriously need to take your head out of your $#@ for a minute and admit to the redirects because none of my links were broken. I've been designing sites for well over five years now and after I changed the error page and got a redirect I checked all my stuff to make sure it was right and I also had a couple others check it before I said a word about it to you. As far as I'm concerned you are the scum of free hosting. Others may not offer as much but atleast they fess up to what they do to your pages!

Unless you share with us the URL of your homepage which is (or was) at ClubHost, I am afraid I have to delete your last message.

Surely you can understand that without verification like this, just about anybody can say anything malicious about any host.

No problem...I was hosted their with the site located at http://pac.u69.us/ but then I got banned so it is no longer there. However, I have posted a site below, if you go to it you will see my post to the admins of Clubhost about this redirection problem and his ignorant response.

Oh man, that guy was a major Jackass! I don't know the entire story, but he sure comes off as a pretty lame guy.

I can't believe a host admin would respond with that.

I'm calling out to anyone here who saw my post, clicked the link to my site at clubhost and saw that there was nothing there. The admin at clubhost is trying to make me look like I have lost my mind and am seeing thing by saying that I was never banned and that my site is up and fine. My site IS back up now and I am no longer banned because he put it all back and he also deleted the entire topic where I was confronting him about the redirecting. So, anyone here who saw those things and knows that its true please contact me so we can show everyone that the admin at clubhost is a liar and an ***. Free host or not, this isn't about the redirecting anymore, it's about principles. It's about him lying about the redirecting to all his members and then lying to everyone else about me confronting him about it and getting banned for it.

I think we are starting to drift off topic here Pac.

Friendly word of advice: change hosts.

Other than that, you are fighting a losing battle. So what if he "is a liar and an ***." You know it. Those that believe you know it. Those that don't care don't care. Those that have no problem also don't care.

If he's such a jerk, eventually he'll be forced to close shop. For your part, just go somewhere else and forget it. It's not worth an ulcer. And getting him to admit he did wrong won't really make you feel better anyway. Trust me.

Yes, I read that thread. I am surprised that they decided to delete it. I saw nothing wrong with that thread; it was obvious that there was a misunderstanding but stuff like that happen all the time!

Actually, I recall something he mentioned in that thread that (to me at least) meant that you didn't place close attention to their "terms of use". Pity the thread is now gone but I read their TOS and found the detail that I wanted to refer to:

But pac, don't let stuff like this get you down, infact I KNOW exactly how you feel (I've had bitter experiences with free hosts before) - the trick is to keep looking. The day you decide that your priority is to help them (free hosts) achieve THEIR objectives as well as yours, is the day you'll be welcomed with the red carpet (practically anywhere)...

Anyway, you've said your piece... and that's all that matters sometimes

If it had always been there, why did he not just say so when the first guy in that topic asked about the redirects? And why delete the topic if I was wrong and they had it their all along? Because he just added it to the TOS after I called them on it. Anyway, I WAS going to just drop the whole thing after I had said my piece a few places about the situation, BUT then he unbanned me and tried to make it look like I was never banned and the whole topic about redirects never existed. That's why I was looking for people here that saw the topic existed and saw that he DID in fact ban me. Then again, last night I decided to drop it again. Then, I sign online tonight and he has registered my account for yearly paid hosting with AMZ and registered the domain name pacsplace.us and placed MY website there. This would be great and I would thank him and take back everything I said about him, BUT again, he is just screwing with me because he changed all the passwords so now I can't even access my own damn website that he has on a paid hosting account. He basically hijacked my site and is hosting it where I can't touch it. Now I do believe that is illegal, is it not? So I've been trying to get in touch with him today and I got a response saying that it was his wife and that he is in bed sick and will get back to me when he can. In the meantime, my site is up on pacsplace.us on paid hosting through AMZ Web Hosting and I can't access it to change it or remove it. Which is the ONLY reason why I'm still going on about this whole thing...


Update: Apparently, there is some psycho hacker guy or something tearing through clubhost and screwing with everyone including the mods and admins. So I'm not going to say I believe this, but I will hold off on pointing the blame for these occurances until I see what is actually going on. By the way, I found this out from having a chat with one of the mods from clubhost who swears up and down that the admin guy is not doing this. So unless I find out it really was him, this topic I guess is deletable...

Ok I have another update. The stuff I said in my last post in the P.S. area about some guy messing with all the stuff at clubhost is true. As far as my site being switched to paid hosting with a domain...The site admin CyberToad has personally paid for the hosting and domain for me as a gift because of all the crap that other guy that is messing up clubhost did. He is by far one of the greatest guys I have come in contact with and I would suggest clubhost for free or paid hosting to anyone looking. Admin here, if you could please either delete this topic or just delete my other posts because clubhost is definetly a great place in my opinion. My new website is at http://www.pacsplace.us which was paid for by CyberToad, the awesome admin at clubhost. The whole password problem I was having with accessing it was a typo by the people at the host who registered it. Once Toad saw my post complaining about it he quickly, while sick as heck, checked into the problem and got it fixed for me. I'd just like to publicly apologize again to CyberToad and Clubhost for all my accusations that were blindly directed in the wrong direction. Everyone who is looking for a great host with an even better admin crew, go to http://www.clubhost.us and tell them pac sent you. Sending them more people is the least I can do after what CyberToad has done for me. Thanks all for bearing with me during this and not just deleting me for being crazy. lol. Peace!
