Help this girl!! PHP NEWBIE!

Hello everyone!

My name is April and I recently started learning about php. The reason was I HATED ASP!!! IIS SUCKS!! and i was looking for an alternative. I would like to start a basic site whre members can login and out with there very own passwords. Basically a membership site. Pay Pal enability would be great but not necessary! Is there a script that I can buy or something! I currently downloaded easyphp1.7 and trying to figure that out! I'M ALSO WILLING TO PAY $50 BIG ONES! for who ever helps me set this up! all you have to tell me is how to set up servers, and how to connect and upload! If you have a website that uses php that will be even better!!!!

i need a script or someone that can help me setup! THANKS YALL!

Luv

April!

Put that wedge of cash away, somebody might see you!

Its pretty easy to setup to be honest, theres a whole host of sites telling you how to setup php, mysql, apache:
http://www.google.com/search?q=php+a...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

If your lazy then here are some links:
LAMP Setup (Linux Apache MySQL PHP)
http://www.phpexamples.net/tutorial-9-1.html

PHP setup on Windows
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/00/44/index4a.html - While webmonkey is still around!

http://www.minitutorials.serveftp.net/ - Check out the menu on the left of the screen.

For PHP coders, PHPfreaks has an excellent tutorials section at:
http://www.phpfreaks.com/tutorial_index.php

They cover things such as membership systems, tracking users, processing credit card transactions. You could copy their code or learn from it and develop your own, up to you.

Hope this helps.

Hi April.

In addition to those great links that Ernie gave, I would recommend two places in GIDForums (this place!). We have a pretty active PHP forum that has some spectacular coding samples.

In addition, we have the Apache Web Server Forum for help on getting things set up.

The links that Ernie gave are more tuturials and howtos which is perfect to get started, but when you have specific problems or questions, a post on these forums will get a bunch of brilliant (present company excluded) individuals helping you.

Good luck!

I've installed PHP Triad. It's a bundled installation with PHP, Apache Server, and MySQL. It works great!

The developer has changed it's name to Sokkit (http://www.sokkit.net) and is now charging for it. But if you can get a copy of Triad, I'd recommend it. Search google for it, it's worth it.
