i have learnt so far that the values in an array are stored in successive memory locations that's all right but i wanna know why is it stored in successive memory locations i need an example explaining this concept .. REGARDS

In C and C++, elements of an array are stored in successive memory locations because the language standards require that to happen. There are lots of reasons why the authors of the languages made that a requirement.
