Python programming ebookFor those who don't know, I have been writing an intro to programming ebook, based on Python, for several months. The final draft is done and available via Bittorrent right now. The torrent file is available at The Pirate Bay.
I'm currently in the process of moving to Japan so I haven't been able to post the file directly to the web. Blogger (where the site for the book currently resides) doesn't allow direct file uploads, unless they are photos or movies. So, I either have to make a web site or find a file hosting service. I think a web site would be better for an ebook (see the Dive Into Python site for an example). Plus, I'm looking at getting the book published and would like a copy editor to review it before I post the final version. The book is being released under the GNU Free Document License, hence the torrent file right now. Please be aware that it is only a draft, so there may be errors. However, if you read it, let me know what you think and any constructive criticism you may have. If all goes well, I plan on following it up with a book on GUI programming. __________________

Re: Python programming ebookUpdate
The latest version of the ebook is available on The Pirate Bay. This is the 2nd draft of the ebook and I've modified the sample code for use with both Python 3 and Python 2.x. However, the examples in the book are for Python 2.x. Let me know what you think. __________________

Re: Python programming ebookFor those interested, I have found a simple way to host the files for the ebook. I was going to make a new site but decided, since I already have the blog setup, making another site just to host the files was unnecessary.
If you want a copy of the book, and don't want to mess around with torrent files, visit http://python-ebook.blogspot.com and look for the link on the left side of the page. Currently I have a .zip file that contains the latest version of the ebook (PDF format) and all the source code files referenced in the book. The source code files are Python 2.5 and Python 3 formats. When I get more time, I plan on uploading other formats, e.g. HTML, DOC, ODF, etc. Because I wrote it with LaTeX, converting it isn't always the easiest, at least with my current setup. Finally, though I wrote the book using Python as the programming language, I hope that it can be used as a introduction to programming in general. If you have any ideas, comments, criticism, etc., please let me know. __________________
